A small start, a big hope
Technology shapes almost every part of our lives, from how we work to how we communicate, learn, and make decisions. Yet the people building that technology still do not reflect the people using it. Women remain badly underrepresented across the tech industry, and the numbers are even starker for Black women and girls, who face some of the largest gaps of all.
This is not a talent problem. Black women and girls are just as curious, capable, and creative as anyone else. The gap exists because of barriers: fewer role models who look like them, fewer spaces that feel welcoming, and fewer chances to explore technology without pressure or judgment. When you cannot see yourself in a field, it is hard to imagine belonging there.
TechnovateHer exists to change that. We are a small, new, volunteer-run non-profit based in Ontario, creating friendly spaces where women and girls, especially those who have been left out of tech, can explore things like AI, build their confidence, and see what is possible. No experience is required, and there is no gatekeeping. You bring curiosity, and we meet you where you are.
Change starts small and grows. Every woman or girl who walks through our doors, asks a question, or builds something for the first time helps shift the picture, and we would love for you to be part of it from the very beginning.
